Haiku In America
A poetic journeying
Date: 3/15/2014 7:34:33 AM ( 10 y ) ... viewed 1259 times Earlier tonight I was creating a new file (I love my Virgo organizing)
and verbalized the label that I had made for that particular file:
"I Ching".
Having said that I then said "I Chang"!
Next I said:
"I ring, I rang,
You answered!
I sang!
And without ever intending it I created a haiku! Well
actually that was what my housemate told me it was when
I shared it with a moment later! She also said it
was my delivery that made it so! That was a wonderful
acknowledgement!
I just checked wiki regarding the
requirements of a haiku and found that the American
haiku is less stringent than the traditional Japanese requirements.
Then I saw that some reference to nature is required.
So -
I edited what I wrote to make it fit that requirement.:
I Ching, I chang
I ring, it rained
You answered -
I sang to you!
Later Saturday evening -
Got inspired to research Chang and just discovered that is is
a harp!:
http://www.cais-soas.com/CAIS/Music/chang.htm
That informs my haiku:
I Ching
my Chang
it rings
then rains
You answered!
We sang.
Further research -
Chang is also the name of a documentary film:
"Chang: A Drama of the Wilderness":
