If we take government statistics at face value, then let's put this "healthcare crisis" into perspective. They claim 44 million Americans don't have health insurance. Now, for this exercise, we have to completely ignore the fact that millions of those people don't actually want it. But let's think about what things are more important than health insurance, from a basic survival standpoint. Good medical care is important to staying alive, obviously, but what things are higher on the list of importance?
Air, obviously---lack of oxygen will kill you faster than any disease. But we can agree that, although not 100% clean, we all have access to the oxygen we need to survive.
Ok, next up, water. Americans are known the world over for our astronomical water usage. So let's move on down the list.
What's the next most important thing for the basic survival of a human life, much more important than medical care? That would be FOOD (some say shelter--don't worry, we'll get to that).
Did you know that it came out in September of this year that 1 in 5 Americans don't have enough food or money to buy food for themselves or their families? That's over 63 million people.
But wait, I thought we were going to all this trouble, and spending all these billions, and coercing millions and millions of people to solve the greatest crisis in America (that will arguably force millions more below the poverty line, and intentionally so)... but there are even MORE people who don't even have enough food to eat?? 48 million Americans are on food stamps. 48 MILLION. And we're going to spend billions of dollars and throw American households into financial upheaval for health insurance?? Really??
It's not just time to stop listening to the rhetoric and letting the propaganda decide what we care about or take action on. It's time to start screaming back at them. We've been completely hosed, America. We've traded in independent thought processes for being spoon fed the issues, right down to precisely what to believe about them. The servants have taken over the keep, and have been allowed to run amok for so long that they can't even figure out what a priority is, let alone what theirs should be. Because there are even more people who can't afford to put a roof over their heads than the number that struggles to provide food for their families.
"Wait, what??" Oops. They forgot that one too, huh? Air, water, food, shelter---these are the things necessary to sustain life.
And yet they're writing blank checks with YOUR MONEY to health insurance companies.
Are you awake yet? Are you pissed off yet??
