There is an article in this magazine by Mike Garcia that inspires me to experiment with creating an aquaponics system using our pond and our
aeroponic system. Mike says, that the pond water will do just as well as the minerals provided by a lab, perhaps better I imagine.
Mike says no one has invented a soil garden that recycles water--that is, until he did.
This article is a good explanation here of aeroponic, aquaponic, and hydroponic systems.
Mike tells me that in So Cal we use 1.5 billion…gallons a day.
water weights 8 lbs per gallon….
20 % of electricity is consumed by pumps to get the water to us.
