I WON A BLUE RIBBON IN THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY FAIR IN JUNE 2013
FOR ANCIENT WHEAT GROWN FROM KAMUT® BRAND KHORASAN WHEAT
Leslie Goldman, Your Enchanted Gardener, won a blue ribbon in June 2013 for Ancient Khorasan Wheat, The plants were grown from grown from KAMUT® Khorasan wheat seeds received from Bob Quinn, who had the wisdom to save these ancient seeds. The seeds are grown in ongoing trials to test the viability of the grains grown in an aeroponic system called the Tower Garden as well as in fertile soil in container gardens and the field. The goal is to acclimate the seeds to Southern California and Mexico as well as spread the popularity of Heirloom Seeds. Leslie Goldman teaches that through growing some of our own food, we will inspire a generation of youthful Wellness Warriors who know that they too are Sacred Seeds. An advocate for living in the Enchanted Garden Era of 1000 years of peace, Leslie seeds humanity's outgrowing the use and dependence of GMO and monoculture farming. Their is a great urgency for The Right to Know and to Label GMO Foods. He believes that it is our birthright to Grow Our Own Food. Youth at the 2nd Festival of Traditional Medicine of the Americas were enthralled by the act of grinding ancient wheat into flour.
Youth and teachers will be inspired by ancient wheat as a teacher as we grind grain into flour, and plant our dreams with heirloom seeds. Seeds say: "Turn toward eating organically grown and non gmo foods! Take your Sacred Seed out of the Pizza Box and Plant Your Dream!" (49 Words).
Leslie will remind Youth to take their Sacred Seeds Out of the Pizza Box and Plant Your Dreams with heirloom Seeds.
Leslie Goldman, Your Enchanted Gardener is known as Uncle Leslie in the science classroom at Hamilton High in Los Angeles where students have had the experience of planting dreams with seeds, growing an organic school garden, and being part of an Organic Squad where they taste from Ms Eva Becker's Enchanted Garden Pantry. Lovely organic foods, including from Eden Foods, Nature's Path, Horizon Organic, and Stoneyfield Farms are among the foods students have experienced over the years.
Youth will also grind ancient wheat into flour to see how seeds turn into flour, and fresh flour makes a healthier Pizza. Kids will see and be encouraged to grow some ancient wheat to plant dreams. How Fast does a Dream Grow, Uncle Leslie asks. As fast as a blade of grass and dreams planted with heirloom seeds.
