134.5 pounds
day 9
Date: 3/16/2012 7:48:21 PM ( 12 y ) ... viewed 1227 times I've done many mastercleanses before - four of them successfully. The ones I don't count are the ones I ended before the 10-day minimum or the ones where I started eating everything in sight on day 11. Each time, sussessful or not, I hated every minute of it. Well except for the few seconds it took me to step on the scale in the morning. What's different this time is that I love every second of it and have absolutely no plans of stopping any time soon. My goal weight is 117 pounds. I don't plan on staying that skinny forever but it would be nice not having to worry about weightgain once I start introducing food again. I think my ideal weight would be 125 pounds. I'm 5'5" and 48 years old. It's just that back in 2006, when I weighed 200 lbs, I somehow got that #117 into my brain as a goal weight and my subconcious won't adjust. Once I see that number on the scale, I can adjust. It was the same with 200 pounds. For most of my adult life I weight about 170 pounds but after my grandma died I gained about 20 or 25 pounds. In order to start a diet something inside of me insisted that I wouldn't be able to succeed unless I first see the #200 on the scale. It actually wasn't easy and I ended up tricking myself by weighing in the afternoon, after a meal, with clothes and shoes, when it is my policy to only weigh in the morning, nude, after elimination and before eating.
So what's different this time. Well obviously the substitution of raw cane juice for maple syrup. It's not just that it tastes really good but also that even though I'm dropping weight like crazy, there's zero change in energy from the day or week before I started the cleanse. If anything my energy increased. There's no doubt that I'll do the half marathon while still on the cleanse.
I've even switched it up a bit by having one of my drinks be a lemonade made with neera natural madal bal syrup. The main reason I did it is because I wanted to taste it. It's pretty good, better than maple syrup but not as good as the cane juice.
The only problem I'm having (and it's not a problem for me at all since this cleanse is mainly about weightloss and ridding myself of food cravings) is that I don't seem to have ANY cleansing side effects. No fuzzy tongue, no weakness, no headache. In the past I had all of them including a horrible mood 24 hours a day. Of course this is the first cleanse I'm doing since going raw four years ago and only allowing processed food into my system over the last six months or so. It's possible that I don't need to cleanse. Since I'm doing this indefinitely, until reaching my goal weight, I'll probably switch to the maple syrup verion after the marathon just to see if that'll cause some detox symptoms.
