The reason I'm calling this a MasterFast rather than a Master Cleanse is because I'm doing my own version. I live in Los Angeles and found a place that sells a drink made from raw cane juice, lemons and cayenne. Many people who buy that drink use it to do the Master Cleanse. The cane juice supposedly has more vitamins and minerals than processed maple syrup and it even has amino acids, the building blocks of protein. A 32 oz bottle has only 400 kcal. The 32 oz bottle is a concentrate and needs to be diluted with 96 oz of water for a one day supply. I love the elixir. It tastes so much better than the original recipe. I've done several original Master cleanses before and always hated that I couldn't eat. I resented myself for having fallen off the wagon and allowed processed food back into my system which after a short while triggered my addiction to overeating. After each mastercleanse I only wanted healthy foods and I felt wonderful. But this time, day 4 is already almost over, and I'm thinking that I could stay on it for 40 days. I feel great. The only reason I'm planning a 28 day fast is because I'm signed up for the Hollywood Half Marathon on April 8th and I'd hate wasting the money I spent for the entrance fee. But today I walked 5 miles and I feel like I could walk another 5 miles without problems.
Well I'll wait until I get a little closer to the date and if I still feel great and full of energy I might do the marathon while still on the cleanse.
Last night I forgot to drink the tea so this morning I decided to skip the salt water flush. I'll look into possibly doing a colonic or two while I'm cleansing.
