Finding the above came as a result of a search I was inspired to do for: "carlos rubbia"+"nobel prize" after reading in "Water & Salt": "In 1984, Dr. Carlos Rubbia, an atomic physicist from Switzerland, received the Nobel Prize for discovering a mathematically calculable natural constant with which he could calculate the ratio of mass particles (matter) in relation to navigating energy particles. ... it takes one billion energy units to create one single unit of matter in a materialized tangible form."
This wonderful book that I'm reading posed a question regarding how those of us who are just focused on the materialistic part of life "preoccupy ourselves" with just a one billionth part of reality and "fail to see the far greater" part even though that greater part is actually what originally and ultimately influences the one billionth part!
In the 60's I had high school physics and I remember an exam with a question regarding what evidence did I have that I was alive. I found that to be a really challenging question, at that time! I answered it by saying I cast a shadow! However, later I had an experience where it seemed that I had temporarily lost my sight. I don't know what was going on but I was not able to see anything. I had a really difficult time convincing my self I was alive with no "shadows"!
