My comment there (now revised):
The American people have had a long lasting love affair with their cars. Will the black box possibly be the end of that? I don't know - however, the claims that the agencies have been making on what once was the private use of private cars has been growing over the decades to where it now appears as if the cars belong to "government". There are plenty of incidences to back that up!
Yet it wasn't always that way! The history on cars and the use of drivers licenses (and the like) can be most revealing if you care to look at it. From my perspective (based on numerous personal experiences) the cars are treated as if they are State property. The basis for that mind set is that the State issues legal permits to use it. The permit serves as a legal contract between the license holder and the State and the State has absolute control over how that is regulated, enforced and it's other uses. The American people have accepted that relationship and those conditions so well that the State wants more payment from it's permitted "drivers"! Do you think it's time to know the truth about the gravy train that the State has set up for it's benefit? And would you like to know that originally the "license to drive" was specified for commercial purposes and did not pertain to the private use of the family car for non-commercial purposes?
