Juice fast, Day 14, end of fast
End of this phase, on to the next!

I weighed in yesterday at 196, which is a 15 pound loss in two weeks. I expect to gain about 3 - 5 pounds back right away as "filler", so to speak. So 2 weeks to lose a solid 10 pounds of fat is very exciting.
I decided to ease into my eating last night, so nibbled a little on blueberries and little bites of various things the family was eating. I tried to leave time (about an hour) in between nibbles of different kinds of food, and my stomach did great, In fact, it had been hurting a little all day with just juice and the food actually made me feel better. In the past I've not had issues with bellyaches after a fast. The challenge before me is to take it real easy, ignore my impulse to plow into everything, and listen to my wiser self that makes better decisions.
I'm excited about avocado - can't wait, and about chicken on my salad. I'm going to keep drinking juices. At this point it will be a little like forcing it because I'm over it. But ultimately I want to feel better. I feel so good now and I want to keep enjoying this.
I bounded out of bed this morning with energy and excitement to pick up and clean areas of the house that I've just been too tired to deal with the last 2 weeks. I have no signs of yeast, sinuses don't hurt. Also, my gums had been sort of tender before the fast, and now they are not, another pleasant side effect. I had the energy to "attack" my husband this morning - haven't had that energy in two weeks.
I'd say the fast is challenging but worth it in the end. I should have done my liver flush earlier in the fast, as my gallbladder is ever so slightly achy. I will flush again in about a week to see if that clears things up. My first gallbladder attack a couple years ago came some months after my first fast (of three weeks) and I believe that was the cause of the gallstones. My own fault for not researching more at the time. Live and learn.
I'm not perfect but I keep trying to improve. I'm not a health nut, just a regular person. My longer term goal is to run a marathon some day. I figure I need to lose about 50 pounds for that to happen, otherwise too hard on my knees. I have a theory that if I fast 2 weeks every 2 or 3 months, then it will take me about a year to get where I want to be, as long as I maintain or keep losing in between fasts. Always sounds good in theory. I think I'll shoot for a 10k or something this summer.
I'll post again in the next couple weeks as a follow-up. Best of luck to those of you out there trying to make yourselves healthier. Ignore the bumps in the road and the negative people. Listen to your intuition and know in your mind and heart that you are doing what is best for you. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. Be kind to yourself. Happy fasting!
