Juice Fast Day 3
A little about me
Date: 3/18/2011 6:56:37 PM ( 13 y ) ... viewed 1459 times Some numbers: I'm 43 years old, 211 pounds (at start of fast), 5'7". I've been battling chronic sinusitis and I have a history of yeast and gallstones. A good weight for me would be around 150. I was comfortable at 160. 6 years ago I had a child and wasn't concerned about overeating because I was really fit at the time. But here I am still hanging on to all that extra weight. In the past I have lost weight fasting and kept off 75% of it for a long time. But then I get sick and it creeps back on. I'd like to find a balance in my health.
So far so good today. I'm not sure why this time I'm not having detox headaches real bad. My tongue is definitely white so I know things are working. I'm also not as hungry as I've been in the past. It might be because I'm using less fruit, more vegie in my juices. I thought that would help the yeast. I've noticed juicing all that vegie juice results in a smaller "yield" than if I was juicing oranges and other fruits. But if I'm drinking less, maybe it's all the same.
I plan to fast three weeks. My previous fasts of 3 and 2 weeks were both intended to be 28 day fasts. I didn't meet my goals but improved my health anyway. Let's not beat ourselves up, right? I just keep trying.
Biggest challenge so far, the SMELL of food. Oh gosh! Yesterday in town I smelled steak sizzling on a grill. Wow. Later, my kids were eating Cheezits and I had never noticed before how wonderfully cheesy they smell. These, among many other smell temptations, I swear, just about puts me over the edge. But I've noticed it's fleeting for the most part. I tell myself, soon enough I'll be eating food again. It's worth it because I already feel so much better. I'm breathing pretty clearly, no yeast, no bloat. It's all good.
Happy juicing everybody!!
