War of the Plastics by Mayah 2-26-2011
Made with recycled plastic washers and "twisties" (what are those thingies called, anyway?), recycled springs, toothpicks, one sheet of black art paper, reused cardboard backing, Elmer's glue, red marking pen. The faces are emoticons typed, printed, and cut out from one sheet of orange art paper.
The blue pentagon washer heads are fighting the gray circular washer heads. Their kings duke it out in the middle of the action. Several plastic warriors have lost their heads. The two little children in the bottom right hand corner are crying and comforting each other: one is a blue pentagon washer head and the other a gray circular washer head. The children represent the future; they see the utter senselessness of the war and they will grow up to be the peacemakers.
