10 day water fast: day 2
day 2, belated
Date: 9/23/2010 3:54:20 AM ( 14 y ) ... viewed 62565 times First of all sorry for not posting yesterday, I felt to weak and just didn´t bring myself round to it, so I will post both days today (one in the morning and the other in the evening). Also, I took the chance to spend some quality time with my boyfriend :)
P.S.: I've just noticed I made a mistake upon writing my weight on Day 1, it´s 57,2kg, not 67,2 ;p
DAY 2
Weight: 55,8 kg
Water consumed: around 1,7 liters
Physical signs: hunger pains, slight muscle ache in legs and feet, bad breath, medium sense of weakness, very slight headache, restlessness during the night and some trouble sleeping, feeling very hot (no fever, it was just the sensation), slight lower back pain (though this might also be attributed to my period), strange feeling of dryness and a coating on my tongue
Exercise: walk around town for around 2 hours (I must confess I needed to sit down a couple times and at the end was quite tired)
Predominant emotions: happiness, anxiety
Certainly yesterday I started to feel the downfall. For what I´ve read about fasting, my body was finishing burning the last glucose (sugar) reserves and was starting to shift it´s metabolism drastically to draw all its energy from fats. This process is called ketosis and is what the bad breath is attributed to. Also, I felt a strong muscle ache particularly in a leg muscle I used to pull quite often, so I´m guessing my body is trying to repair some damaged tissue there. The dry tongue could mean I need to drink more water, but just haven´t felt the need for now. Tongue coating is definitely a sign of detox and I´ve never really been prone to headaches so I guess that's why mine is only mild. Overall I did start to feel the tiredness but that could also be because on the night of Day 1 my sleep was interrupted by an important event which kept me up all night.
All in all it´s been a difficult day, but again, thanks to having great support nearby I even got to enjoy it =)
