Got C.A.K.E.?

Every good chef deserves to have his c.a.k.e. and eat it too!

I formed this acronym: C.A.K.E. in the last several days: Cultivating Awareness in Kitchen Environments. I made C.A.K.E. at a time that I have experienced additional chaos in the main kitchen that I use. My usual practice has been to model the awareness that I wish to cultivate in the kitchen; however an extraordinary condition has developed over the last three weeks with an extended "visit" by a "guest" staying here and the extra burdens that has caused have been overwhelming for me!

Thinking back on that now (on June 4, 2011) I could say it was no "cake walk"! Fortunately the "guest" finally moved on! However, another guest arrived and on the first evening of their arrival I heard them say they were considering living here and in the same moment they asked: "Is that okay?"! I am finally laughing out loud (not too loud) about that! I'd like to have some C.A.K.E. and "eat" it too! I'd like to enjoy that - with lots of whipped levity!
