The influence of the 2010 Cultivating Food Justice Conference April 24-25 is now rippling out across American, The Conference is not over, although
those dates are now history. Youtubes are now coming online. hundreds of conversations need to piggy back on this one from August 2009. Time has a new issue out on the 100 top sustainable food leaders this week. Michael Pollan is among them. Good Guy-bad Guy scenarios will no longer feed us. Only a just and true Dialogue on Sciece, Ethics, and Food will turn the tide.

questioning the idea that genetically modified crops
could contaminate other crops.
"This isn't the contamination of the New York City water supply,"
he said. "This isn't the end of the world, it really isn't."
Alfalfa, which is used for livestock feed and can be planted in spring or fall, is a major crop grown on about 22 million acres in the U.S., Monsanto said in court papers. Monsanto's alfalfa is made from genetic material from bacteria that makes the crop resistant to the popular weed killer Roundup.

With the election of Jimmy Carter, Scalia left government service and returned to academia in 1977. Until 1982, Scalia occupied a number of academic positions, including resident scholar for the conservative American Enterprise Institute and law professor at Georgetown University Law Center, University of Chicago School of Law and Stanford. He also briefly served as chairman of the American Bar Association's section on administrative law and the Conference of Section Chairs. In 1982, Scalia's philosophy of judicial restraint began to gather momentum after Ronald Reagan appointed him to the US Court of Appeals.

LA FARGE, Wis., April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Organic Valley farmers are joining the Center for Food Safety in a fight against the sale of Monsanto's genetically modified (GM) alfalfa seed. Products certified under the USDA Organic seal cannot be genetically modified, and GM alfalfa drift threatens the integrity of certified-organic alfalfa crops, says the organic farmer-owned cooperative.
"Alfalfa is a perennial with a three-mile pollination radius,
so farm buffers won't work," explains Fred Kirschenmann, Iowa Leopold Center Distinguished Fellow and a farmer in North Dakota.
"It is impossible to contain."

I AGREE WITH THIS COMMENT BY XENOPHILIA
Yeah, it’s not like some alfalfa is going to create a black hole that swallows the entire galaxy in one day and one night resulting in the complete extinction of all life everywhere in the entire Milky Way Galaxy. Geeze. Relax. Eat your franken-foods. Trust that if it turns out that GM foods are killing people slowly and/or causing diseases like cancer, there will, eventually, be lawsuits and it will be banned … after enough people have died. That’s the way it worked with vioxx, asbestos, PCBs, certain pesticides, DDT and cigarettes.
