PROPOSED
KEYNOTE TO

"Feeding San Diego Healthy Food:
A Local Organic Farmers Shares
His Perspective"

Who: Barry Logan,
La Milpa Organica Farm Community

What
"Feeding San Diego Healthy Food:
A Local Organic Farmers Shares
His Perspective"

When
Where
Why

Barry Logan is a local San Diego food hero
to many. He is part of the La Milpa Organica Farm
Community. He goes the extra mile to practice principles
of growing food for people more than profit.
His business model is food and friendship first.
He places nutrition per acre over profit per ace.

His experience as a local grower connected to eaters,
students and healthy food policy activists
point out
the need for change if truly San DIego is going
to feed its people and adjust to current trends
that may bring a local food crisis.
Logan sees Big Ag, as we know it now,
on its last leg. Find out why. And hear about
the changes he sees that could make it possible for
small farmers to not only survive but thrive
locally for the good of all.

Impactful organizing meeting of the
2010 Food Cultivating Meeting

I would like to help.

One thing I would like to do is create
and review what I have written already
that could go out to promote the Raj Patel
and Barry Logan Keynotes at the
upcoming 2010 Cultivating Food Justice Conference.

Mariah Hudson, who is part of the
planning committee works for SDSU.

She would like a Press Release sent over by
Monday.

I want to begin by studying what SDSU
had done with other speakers.

Tracy Kidder
and Franx Dewaalf have been two other speakers
who have been part of their
SDSU Common Experience Programs.

The Raj Patel contract has him here
for six hours.

I would like to see and have him a
Calendar for what and where he will be
during those six hours.

I would like to see him be interviewed
by the press on the Global Food Crisis.

This would be a full time job for me on that
day to be the Press Contact.

I want to study what SDSU has done with previous speakers.

I need to spend downtime to do this.

The Press Release would begin
with a topic. This might be a proposed
title:

The Global Food Crisis and What We Can Do
To Be A Model to Solve it Locally"

I have read a number of blogs and links
on Raj Patel. I want to review them here
on this Blog.

The Keynote for Barry Logan also needs
a topic. This might be a proposed title:
