Republic - Rule-of-Law; Confederation - Form of Government

What the author here says validates what I have written elsewhere regarding "Sovereignty". I've just started reading this.[2]

[1] September 1, 2015 - At least Benjamin Franklin reportedly responded to the question presented ton him regarding what form of government the secret constitutional convention come up with by saying "a republic, if you can keep it". However, the form of government had already been established as a Confederation!
Also regarding what the "Founding Fathers set up for us in 1787" - these were the second set of "Founding Fathers". The first set were of the spirit of 1776. The second set were of a different spirit.
