Self diagnosis is a slippery trail

Or, a little knowledge is a confusing thing

I keep reading that it's difficult to cure yourself of AF or mild hypothyroidism. Jeez, it's hard enough to figure out what the hell is going on, much less heal it. We're all just voyagers down the trial-and-error highway, it seems. Really, the minute you veer away from allopathic medicine you are confronted with many different roads, no map and very few signs along the way.

Last night was a first for me. I didn't fall asleep at 8 pm and actually was able to watch a movie on DVD and relax and laugh. My temp was a lovely 98.6 the whole day so wondering if that had something to do with it, or if I just got lucky on dice rolling with my health yesterday. I do find that the more religious I am about supplementing (esp. the companion supplements) I feel better. Who knows, maybe the salt push helped. I know salt is helpful with AF so perhaps I will try again today.

My boyfriend, J, has had a temp of 95.5 for weeks now. His distended stomach is ever growing and this now makes 3 years of him dealing with this. His luck has been downright horrible with Doctors, from the woefully misinformed to the Kings of Condescension. I read about a Naturopath fairly nearby who knows a lot about Wilson's Low Temp Syndrome and it turns out J has heard of him through customers (J manages a vitamin store). So, I think I've convinced him to go.

I may go too. Although it's funny, I take some weird sort of pride in dealing with my health myself. I am my own Sherlock Holmes although really when I look at the lists of AF and Hypo symptoms, I don't have all of them. Hmmm, what are my symptoms. As follows:

* Fatigue (esp. after eating food, more so in early morning and directly after dinner)
* Inability to lose weight (whereas before I was slender with no issues). Weight is mostly at my belly
* Low body temp that is somewhat erratic (AF symptom)
* Feeling overwhelmed with work (modern day symptom, no?)
* Dependency on caffeine still (afraid to go off of it without help from an ND)
* Low BP (95/45 is average)

Eh, I guess that's it, really. Not much and surely something I can transcend. Just drank my salt water and took my morning supps.

I think I'll do well today.
