Food Not Lawns got some nice coverage this morning from all the millions of people tuning to Fox5 at 5am. Fox 5 (KSWB) gave us 4 little promos to talk about Food Not Lawns, the New Roots Community Farm and other stuff from 5:30am to 8:30am. We were live broadcasting from the New Roots Community Farm and each segment ran about 2-3 minutes. Amy Lint took the second spot but I was part of the other three segments. The anchor got a little mixed up on the details here and there (par for the course when it's that early in the morning!) but all in all I think we got a chance to get the messages out we wanted to.
In addition to the live segments, we also recorded some footage which will be edited down for the 10pm news tonight. Be sure to turn in tonight to Fox 5 to see it! Should include some footage of me, Amy Lint, Andrea Magee and Bilali Muya (one of the growers there). Not sure how long the segment will run or when in the program it will be included. If you have the ability to, please record it (I don't have the ability to do so).
Also, if you didn't already hear about it, the grand opening of the New Roots Community Farm (open to the public) will be September 10th, 5-7pm. More info here:
