Biodegradable Rainwear a Hit!!!

At the Sunday Farmers' Market I had fun
giving different people Perf Go Green Trash bags
that made wonderful rBiodegradable Rain gear. I made
a lot of friends among my local farmer friends too,
giving them each a few of the bags for some of their
rainsoaked customers.

We had a morning of rain here yesterday
In our neighborhood, a good pouring,
this the third day after the Spring Equinox.

I am happy to see that there are
still many blossoms on the orange
and nectarine tree. They were not effected.

Saturday was sunny. Sunday morning
this downpour.

STEVE THE FARMER says that
people here in San Diego are rain sky.
Just misting them with a spray bottle
is enough to drive them into not knowing
what to do.

People here in San Diego are spoiled. They hold back
from shopping at the Farmers' Market when it is rainy.
I was surprised to see how many devotees
were out. The rain was not going to stop them.

Wow! Did I have fun!

I had bags of KEEP the BEET's favorite
PERF GO GREEN TRASH BAGS with me
in the EG MOBILE.

There was not a more perfect time to make
friends for this wonderful product and its
FOUNDATION 21.0 that aims to take
masses of old plastic bags and turn them
into biodegradable new Perf Go Green Trash
Bags. These new trash bags
decompose into biomass within two years
or less.

I put on my winter hat to keep out the wet and the
cold. I also had my duck green umbrella.

I was hanging out with JOE THE FARMER.
SUZANNAH and the Kids were already at the market.
BRIAN, her youngest, was soaked.

I was surprised to see how many young people
had their hair wet. They were like deer caught
into the headlights, only it was broad daylight.

One mom came by with her teen daughter.
I pulled out one of the 30 gallon Perf Go Green Bags
and started to make holes in it where her daughter
could put through her head. Then I made two holes for her
arms. I also gave the teen another bag for her head.

The mom was totally appreciative.

I told them both about this wonderful this product
from PERF Go Green. They were amazed to hear
that this Trash Bag decomposes as it does.

I told them where to get the bags.
Last week, I made a special trip to the CVS
near the North Part Farmers' Market.
There they were, right next to the Hefty bags,
and other models! I was very happy
to the Perf Go Green Trash Bags in the store.

I have been really heartbroken the last few weeks
since reading this blog here about
CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON and his
summary of the condition of our seas
that are inundated with plastic waste.
http://www.curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=1367072

"Each of us on average uses 190 pounds of plastic annually: bottled water, fast food packaging, furniture, syringes, computers, computer diskettes, packing materials, garbage bags and so much more.
All the plastic that has ever been produced has been buried in landfills, incinerated, and dumped into lakes, rivers, and oceans. When incinerated, the plastics disperse non-biodegradable pollutants, much of which inevitably find their way into marine ecosystems as microscopic particles.

Back in 1991, my ship, the Sea Shepherd, was anchored in the harbor of Port of Spain, Trinidad. It began to rain a hard steady downpour. A few hours later, the entire surface area of the harbor was dirty white, as if an ice floe had entered this tropical port. The "floe" consisted of Styrofoam, plastic bottles, and assorted plastic materials as far as the eye could see and it had come down from the streets, gutters, and streams into the harbor. And, of course, it was all washing out to sea, dispersed by wind and tide."

Ouch!!!

A floating garbage bag looks like a jellyfish to a turtle. The plastic clogs the turtles' intestines, robbing the animals of vital nutrients, and it has been the cause of untold turtle losses to starvation. All seven of the world's sea turtle species suffer mortality from both plastic ingestion and plastic entanglement. One turtle found dead off Hawaii carried over 1,000 pieces of plastic in its stomach and intestines

Double ouch, and personal hurt!!!

Ah...

to be continued....

Time for a nap....
