Home Altars 101
Renee's little childhood fantasy garden/altar
Date: 1/22/2009 9:33:29 AM ( 15 y ) ... viewed 1933 times I wish I had a digital camera so I could show you guys my home altar. I used to have a statue of Saint Michael the Archangel. Well I will give you a tour. Although we have a basement apartment, we have full sized windows. My desk is below the window and off to the side. The television is on a platform over my desk (Simply Raw is playing on the DVD right now). My desk is pleasantly cluttered without inducing crazed neurotic cleaning frenzies.
My home altar is as following from left to right. A small hurricane latern holds my only quartz crystal. Next to it is a bust of Nefertiti. I've vibed with a few different images in life and Nefertiti is one of them. To the back right on the window, is a gift from my aunt, a pair of steel pan players. Around these items are various stones and rocks I picked up off the beaches of Trinidad and Tobago. I made a little sand and stone art in a tealight holder. Sometimes I make little stone gardens and move them around. Very therapeutic. Below the altar is my health vision board with a picture of me in my nurse uniform and to the immediate right is a wonderful poster from the movie Splash.
That is my home altar. The cat has been warned and he's trying his best to not knock everything off just a few stones :-) Something magical about this particular corner of the house that resonates with me.
