Day 5
Things are slowly getting better.
Date: 8/15/2008 10:25:30 AM ( 16 y ) ... viewed 2445 times I only lost a pound since yesterday, which is the lowest so far. Kind of disappointing, especially since I had to walk over 2 miles yesterday, and I was thinking it would increase my weight loss for that day. On the bright side, I've lost 10 pounds total. I noticed yesterday that the skin on my sides is starting to sag from the weight loss. I hope it will tighten up later on.
In previous fasts, smelling food was like torture, but for some reason I am enjoying it this time. My smell has been sharper every day, and when I'm preparing food for the kids or juicing fruits for my fiance, I smell everything and pretend that I can taste it. The smells are so wonderful it almost IS like tasting it.
My mouth has been more coated the last 2 days than in the beginning, but my stomach is more at ease. I guess you could say the hunger is gone, but I still daydream about food and can't wait to eat again. I hope I crave better foods when the fast is complete, because right now it seems like I'm going backwards and craving more processed food. I think that has something to do with what I ate at the time my fat cells were formed?
Energy is about the same as yesterday, but I'm a little less groggy. I'm tired at bedtime, yawning a lot, but still have a hard time getting to sleep. Last night, my legs were so restless I had to get up and move around for a while.
I'm still waiting for the spiritual part to kick in, I guess that comes a little later. Not that I'm making an effort to search for it, I'm doing well enough just to stay focused on not quitting. I've made it longer than my last fast, which I broke on the 4th evening.

GW: 115 lbs.
