It seems like...
walking the walk
Date: 8/11/2008 11:12:09 AM ( 16 y ) ... viewed 1512 times As soon as I said I eat one meal every 24 hours, I started eating 3 meals a day! I wondered how my body composition would change as a result; but so far, so good. I appear to be up 2lbs, but my body fat is down 1%. My clothes are looser, so I know I'm making progress. I decided that Yoga isn't my thing... but I have continued to walk to work the past two weeks, and I really like it alot. My walking time has decreased from 2 hours to 1 hour, 30 minutes - more or less. I prefer walking outside, to the treadmill. My goal is to walk every single day this week. I got out the house late this morning, and made it to work in just enough time to wipe off a little sweat, change my clothes and be at my desk on time. I was a litle clammy but I'm glad I did what I set out to do today and didn't give up.
I've been reading a few books: Eat Stop Eat(E-book on intermittent fasting)by Brad Pilon - a good basic book if you are thinking of trying intermittent fasting; overpriced in my opinion ($32 and change with tax); but I'm glad to have it for reference. Eat Yourself Slim by Michel Montignac - said to be one of the first books on weight loss through low glycemic eating - I don't know, but I find his suggestions very doable so after reading his book this weeekend, I started the "Montignac Method" today. A huge thing happened. I stopped eating sugar around the time of my last post. "The truth will make you free". I also went to an excellent lecture/book signing with Gabriel Cousens, who just wrote a book called, The Cure for Diabetes. I attended the lecture because diabetes runs through my family line on both sides; I've been aound it all my life, and I don't want to go out like that. I still have treats of course. I'm finding there are lots of yummy sugar free goodies made with malitol. I am researching more on the subject...If anyone has tried Clemmy's all natural sugar free ice cream, please post your review. I'm waiting for the product to hit supermarket shelves in my area. Another book I read, and like very much is Walk Yourself Thin, by David Rives. The author apparently lost a lot of weight walking everyday. He gives you another way to look at the process, which is just what I needed to stay motivated; and he's funny too.
