Starting the Countdown!
The start of my preparation for a 10-day fast & my quest for a healthier body, mind, and relationship with food

Hello everybody! I am preparing for a 10-day water & possibly juice fast that I will be performing in a little over 2 weeks. I know some people might find it strange that I am starting a blog this early, but I think keeping track of my mental and physical preparation for the fast is nearly as important as the experience itself. This is not only my first extended fast, but it is also something that I believe will play an important role in helping me in my quest to have a healthier relationship with my body and food. I believe it will help me see that food is something to be enjoyed, not scared of, but also that it does not have to take center stage in our thoughts and minds all of the time. I want to discover those experiences and stimuli that I have been missing out on as a result of my constant thinking and worrying about food. What I am hoping to gain as a result of this fast is no small matter, and I know the experience will be very trying at times. I therefore know that adequate preparation is key! I would love for any of you out there to share in this quest with me, and if any veteran fasters out there have any tips for how they prepared for a successful fast, I would really appreciate hearing them! Also, if there are any women (or men) who struggle with a disordered relationship with food and need some support, guidance, or just the knowledge that someone else is dealing with the same thing, I would be happy to keep in contact with you.
