Health Alternatives and My "Medical Team"

When I first went to see my virus doctor, she hadn't even gotten my first blood test results back and wanted to start talking about medications. I naturally had to ask her, "Why? Am I sick?" She said "No, but it was better to take a cautious approach". I told her I REALLY hate pills and would wait for my first test results.
2 years later, with a VL of 570 (down from 2600) she had to admit that she hadn't seen those results in any of her patients who were on meds. It was a sign for me to stick to my regimen. When the doc left, the nurse asked what I was doing and was anxious to hear about any progress now that I had started taking organic virgin coconut oil more regularly as well as oregano oil.
When I went to see my regular physician, (God Bless him - he's so nice) He asked what drugs they had me taking. I said none...and he said, no, it says here, Oreganol. Trying not to chuckle I said, its oregano oil and told him about its natural healing properties, that it is anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti, anti, anti.
A dietician that I went to see not all that long ago (the weight thing again) asked me what Oregano Oil was. She wrote it down and made a note to look it up online.
It amazes me that physicians, specialists, nurses, nutritionists, dieticians, etc seem to have very little knowledge of natural supplements, herbs, herbal remedies, oils, etc. Maybe its a lack of desire to know about these things outside of their medical training. I feel like I am doing the educating, but if that's what I must do, then that's EXACTLY WHAT I'M GONNA DO!
