Yesterday was the first day that I spent with a new housemate who came all the way from Ithaca New York to live here and attend San Diego State.
This is a very difficult week with many challenging situations at home.
I’m having positive thoughts this morning as a result of yesterday.
I’m continuing to have diarrhea. It has been going on for more than two weeks now. I’m very tired during the day. have to need to take naps.
The house has been the top priority consistently wit ... read more

Handling Stress Differently This Morning

I am handling stress differently this morning.
Maybe it is the Flower Essence Services Flourish called Post Trauma Stabilizer.
My lower back is hurting a bit.
I am not confident that my closest housemate and partner is coming to be able to pay her rent in a few months.
There are so many concerns this week with moves in and out at the house that I better just let go.
What ever I do today will be O.K.
A bright and shiny new housemate is moving in.
I want to enjoy that.

Autism Begins Before Birth, New UCSD-Led study Finds
Autism begins in pregnancy with subtle disruption of the brain’s cortex, according to a study led by UC San Diego researchers. Moreover, it identifies a mechanism of abnormal gene activity explaining how the disruption causes autism.
If the study is confirmed, a physical cause will at last have been identified for autism, a developmental disorder whose origins are frustratingly vague. And a cause will give scientists a target for therapies and prevention. And further studies may find other brain abnormalities that have eluded disco ... read more
Diversity of Corn in Mexico: The Chapela/Quist discovery 10 y
Dr. Ignacio Chapela is one of two scientists from the University of California, Berkeley who documented the discovery of transgenes in the Mexican native, or criollo, corn grown here. Chapela and his colleague, David Quist, took their samples from Capulalpam, so this remote village is getting more than its fair share of visitors these days. From Rogue Corn On the Loose

The Rising up of Auntie GMO
I am seeking a new Art Creation….is is a image of Auntie GMO…She is the a composite of our Grassroots movement growing….she represents the alignment of the Marcher and the Gardener coming together as one and as one inside ourselves.
Uncle Sam is currently in the farm bed with Biotech Agriculture. He needs to be returned to the inherent values as expressed by our founding gardener presidents who had a close relationship with nature.
NEW!!! July 27, 2014
The Resistance to the ongoing assault on the quality of our food supply is expressed through the Label GMO movement. Food Reform is coming through our voices and actions being raised in the political arena, yet the Soul of our Grassroots Movement will grow with a gardening tool in hand. Gaining intimacy with the growth of ancient grains and other heirloom seeds as more and more of us breathe life into Auntie GMO ”Anti” GMO through entering the original gardener mentality.
As much as Uncle Sam is a representation of the U.S., I see Auntie GMO as a representation o ... read more

Got a good readout of where I am now. Spend a few good hours this Sunday morning working on my blogs and organization. This was valuable…..I have to shift the energy around. If I can spend enough time with my organization, this will help me heal.

I saw for a moment this early morning my work with the Campaign to Grow A Healthier Pizza, and how rather than investing time there, I have needed to invest a lot of time in the house this year.
Tom told me to go beyond my feeling and will myself into action.
I would like to take steps to create the Grow A Healthier Pizza Starter Kit.

Kathreen Gildred's story
Leslie Goldman I put a link to your story here on my blog. http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=2191083 I want to add some of my own notes that began when I first saw your painting when you were a child hanging in the home of Sadie Gildred, your father's mother. I recognized you from that painting years later when I came to Pasadena for a new age expo. Sadie Gildred helped me when I was abandoned by my father for a while. She helped me go to college. My mother died when I was 12. I rode to the cemetery in the car of Sadie. Jose, her husband, was driving. You brought me important messages at times during my life. Once I was at an important conference in LA. I saw you walking ahead. I overheard you say your car had been broken into. It was in Downtown LA. I did not take heed. My VW was stolen a couple days later, never to return. when I was a child, I visited Rochester New York with my dad. We visited an elder who was a sister of my dad's mom. Someone was talking about a relation who became a successful writer. I was marked by that to be a writer. We visited a nightclub of a relative of my dad. I think the last name was Michaels. My dad was always excited wh...

Hoop Dreams followup
Important film.--Leslie
With more and more children across the world pursuing their own hoop dreams, the film’s portrait of athletic exploitation and economic marginalization remains as affecting and topical as ever. Hoop Dreams was recently named to the Library of Congress’s National Film Registry, signifying its importance to the history of American film, but this is a movie whose reach and relevance is increasingly global in scope. If the past 20 years have been any indication, Hoop Dreams will continue to transcend its humble, Midwestern origins—comforting the afflicted, afflicting the comfortable, and entertaining audiences all over the world.--Will Di Novi

California Black Walnut Tree - Juglans californica
Planting a California Black Walnut Tree requires you to consider the fact that they secrete a toxin called Juglone from their body parts. This toxin may stunt the growth of other plants growing near the tree. It is a brilliant evolutionary adaption (Allelopathy), shared by other plants such as Eucalyptus - which is ironically planted much more in Southern California than the nativ ... read more
