Reflections, Monday, January 17, 2011.
This is the week that in the Jewish Tradition
we celebrate the Birthday of the Trees.
I am resolved to take a very difficult,
yet important decision to hold on to the
Beat of Life.

THE HISTORY OF PEACE
ON EARTH...
PHOTO CAPTION
FROM JANUARY !7, 2011
That’s me, leslie, holding on to the beat of life,
as I hold on to a bucket with a growing beet in it.
To grow a beet in a pot represents a desire to
stay connected and reconnect with the beat of nature.
This week, many in my world have been processing
death. I have too. It has come very close to my
home as I looked at either selling or staying here
where I have lived since 1982. There were days
when I thought I had found a safe haven, another

In recent days, I have not felt as safe place

Adam Pascu, Realtor visited the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community Growing Grounds January 14.
The purpose of the visit is to explore the value of the property
and the price this land might bring.
We spent hour hour or more together.
By the time, Adam, the name of the first man left,
he had received seed for his two little children and
a Kona Coffee plant to root his dreams.
I learned a lot about Adam who left with a smile on his face
and a mission to make the most of the plant he had been given.

Shock and Disbelief 13 y
I have to leave this place
to have sanity.
Shock and disbelief.
Just woke up from a nightmare.
I was at a weekend retreat of some kind.
I was feeling some distancing and lack of connection
from the group. I could not believe this.
I have a question mark in the dream,
I may have been at the Whole Being Weekend,
a place where I normally know my ground
and can express my magic and leadership.
Finally, a couple days passes and things did not
get too much better. I was about to connect
with one person. I was able to do my seed dream work.
Then, as I went to get my breakfast,

DEBBIE FRIEDMAN, deeply felt.
Debbie Friedman was a Jewish Liturgy evolutionary who took Jewish prayer and made it assessable through music and song. She was beloved by many, including Rabbi Stan Levy of the B’nai Horin, Children of Freedom Community in Los Angeles. It was through Stan, my rabbi, that I came to appreciate the work of Debbie. She would play music, sing songs, and add her wisdom to our high holiday services
over the years.
She was cordial to me and warm as we came to know each other. I would photograph numbers of the B’nai Horin High Holiday se ... read more

When I touch grass,

It existed long before there were human beings

Through the grass,
I tallk to the infinite,
which is only a silent force.
This is not a physical contact.
It is not in the earthquake,
wind, or fire,
It is the invisible world of nature,
or which, I, too, am a part.”
