Fasting interjection: Something is amiss in the bathroom.
 
I’m not sure what happened. I made it to the 35 hour mark (11:00am) with no food or water. I was feeling okay, no particular hunger or thirst. Detox was about the same with a horrible taste in my mouth and my tongue was starting to get whiter, but still no headaches or anything. Then my stomach started cramping pretty badly and I spent the next two hours passing watery stools. Day 1 of water only fast morphs into my first dry fast. Details included.
 
Day 1 of fasting is down and it seems that I’ve started my water-only fast out as a dry fast. This is the first time I have ever dry fasted. I started out with the intent to only drink as much water as my body called for, but I never got thirsty during the period of time that I was awake. I laid down to take a nap at noon and ended up sleeping until 2:00am! My body must have needed the 14 hours of rest. My boyfriend woke me up a couple of times, once when he got home at 3:30pm and right before he went to bed at 8:30pm. Intro to 40 day water fast. Details of why I'm fasting and what to expect.
 
I’m new to blogging and I’m new to fasting ..so why not start both at the same time? Although it is supposed to be a time of rest, I feel like I may need this as an outlet to help keep me on track. I have been educating myself on the power of fasting for quite some time now. I have read books, watched vlogs, read blogs, articles, etc. Most of those sources instruct to do a fast under the supervision of a doctor or fasting center, but I will be doing this alone at home.
