What is really important in life? Sometimes illness sets your priorities straight.
In April I was told I had auto-immune liver disease but wasn’t shocked because I had heard the same words seven years ago when I first was seen by a doctor. A second opinion came to the conclusion (wrong)that I had a lupus flare. Then at that time (1997)I was diagnosed not with liver disease but with Lupus in general. The last 7 years I have fought night sweats, extreme fatique, fevers and joint pain. But I was determined to live my life despite the pain--so I took on a high energy career and blazed the path not trying to feel sorry for myself.

One of Many Perfect Foods!
As you know from my last blog that I am not ’Green Thumb’ so this will be a challenge for me. But if I am successful then I won’t have to buy the same old sprouts in the store in the plastic bags--I will have a whole variety of them right here at home which is a money saver and probably more nutritious since I won’t be using any pesticides.
I wish there was an organic farmers market here where I live. It’s hard for people to really get the best fruits and vegetables that havn’t been tampered with.

Today is Saturday and it is beautiful out! You can tell that it is going to be a warm day. I love spring as it is a time of new beginning. And I really feel that way about my life---sometimes getting a disease brings a person full circle. I look at mine as a gift. Don’t get me wrong...I am trying to get cured from this liver disease but it’s entry in my life has made me see what is important--mainly my family.

Fighting Liver Disease with Raw Diet
I was diagnosed with liver disease back in March. I was down with the same symptoms seven years ago but was told it was lupus. But then I fell ill-really ill in March. It started with swollen glands, an incredibly infected throat and a bladder infection. Of course I ignored all the signs--our body does tell us things if we would actually LISTEN!
