That headline is not a misprint. The number of working age Americans that do not have a job has increased by nearly 10 million since Barack Obama first entered the White House.
In January 2009, the number of ”officially unemployed” workers plus the number of Americans ”not in the labor force” was sitting at a grand total of 92.6 million. WASHINGTON — About 500 people from various labor and unemployment coalitions rallied on the west steps of the Capitol yesterday to appeal to Congress to boost the $3.35-an-hour federal minimum wage.

- About 20 years ago, in the midst of a recession, New Jersey decided to boost its minimum wage to $5.05 an hour from $4.25. Its neighbor to the west, Pennsylvania, chose not to tinker with its wage floor. Two bright young economists at Princeton, David Card and Alan B. Krueger, recognized in that dull occurrence a promising natural experiment.

Since graduating H.S. 1960; I have witnessed the gradual decay and destruction of the US public education establishment! Right down to the present public school system with some of my grandchildren! Sad indeed!
