Blog: Master Cleanse for Mind and Body
I went to Super Supplements after work last night and bought some malic acid (for liver flush prep) and probiotics. The end is feeling so near now. The accomplishment I feel so far is incredible. It's strange to think I only planned a 10ish day fast, as usual, in the beginning and yet I've come so much further, pushing myself to a new level. I look forward to another extended fast in a year or so. The extra cleansing time seems much more beneficial.
Today is a beautiful 94' day outside (that's quite rare in the Pacific Northwest). I took a walk to Blockbuster and Schucks. Even though I had a double lemonade before I left (I drink 3 doubles a day sort of like meals), I was hungry when I got there. I wandered through Safeway (next door to Blockbuster) and found something I felt pretty good about consuming. They have a storebrand called O Organics which sells different varieties of teas. They also had a drink called herbal berry infusion. It was made of water, cane sugar, habiscuis, blackberry leaves, and natural berry flavor. I drank it and felt a lot better. That was 3 hours ago and so far it hasn't triggered any hunger. I think it was a good choice.
After coming home I chatted with my neighbor. She told me that my skin looks really great so I told her about the MC. Her comment surprised me because I haven't completely cleared up from the acne outbreak on my forehead. Maybe I need to step back and reevaluate my progress. I haven't noticed much improvement but knew this was a good thing that isn't always apparent from the outside.
Happy Cleansing,

I am new to the listserv and in the 6th day of my MC. I decided to get on the site to get information and encoouragement from those who have gone before me. You were definitely a help. When I talk about the cleanse I have been referencing to your journal and using to educate others on the toxins and unhealthy habits of our lifestyles. I laughed at your preparatory vegetable purchases, as that sounds like something I would do. In reading another one of your passages about your depression and so forth...I have recently had a child almost 7 months ago and I realized that I needed to do something to get out of the funk. I still stay in the bed a little too much, but my thoughts about motivating myself come more often. It's always great to have those lazy days to let your body recouperate from unnerving work days.
Your life is such a blessing to those around you and we must not loose focus on our purpose and I see this cleanse as way to channel your energy in the places that it should go. I used to soend energy informing people about the greatest places to eat and found myself consuming at an unhealthy rate of foods that would do nothing but haunt me in 10 years. It also is going to help me teach my daughter better eating habits. You might say all this in 6 days, well I fail to mention how a little piece of fruit would taste like a buffet to me.
After reading your postings I was thinking that I would try 30 days, but I need to make sure that I am really detoxing and not just starving myself. I need to get regular with the herbal teas so I am going to the store today to stock up on the smooth move and other herbal laxatives. The first days I felt like I was detoxing now I don't feel much.
I hope you continue to check the list once you are done with your fast to us know about your "return to eating" and how it is going...
God's Blessing on the rest of your journey!

Beauty,
Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm glad my blog has helped you. Your dedication to modeling healthy eating for your daughter is admirable. So you are on day 6 (now 7). How is it going so far?
Is this your first fast? For me the first couple were the hardest because I had the most cleaning to do. Doing a 30 day fast does give more results but if you have a lot of past food choices to "clean" then I hope you consider a few shorter fasts before you do a long one.
It is so important to give you body downtown between big periods of detox. Especially with the demands of a little one I hope you take it slowly. Often on this site people will post that the food will still be there when they are done fasting. It is the same with the Master Cleanse. The fast will still be waiting when you are ready so don't be afraid to take it at your own pace.
I hope you let me know how it is going. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
Truly,
Peanut
