Blog: journal of my 30 day juice fast
welll today is day 4 and i thought i was suppose to be feeling better. well i am feeling better than day 2 which for me was the worse. i felt like crawling into fetal position and staying under the covers. i will start from start. i started this fast primarily for weight loss. well i should be honest it is all about weight loss. friends of mine fasted last year and shed 40 pound in 30 days. i want to lose at least 30 pounds on this fast. it is important to me to cleanse my digestive system too. i want to do this fast to gain control over my over eating and other bad habits including alcohol and occasional smoking. i also want to start a daily exercise program which i have really enjoyed in the past but at the moment i am too heavy and find anything other than a walk hard going. this combined with a low fat low carb diet at the end of the fast is how i plan to lose the ramaing 30 pounds (yes i have 60 to lose slowly gained over 10 years).
so the plan is to consume 8-10 glasses of freshly juiced juice per day, half beign fruit and half vegie. also to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. i will also be taking herbal laxatives to help with cleansing. i will be exfoliating daily and using minmal amount of body products - eg shampoo toothpast soap deoderant etc. and what products i will use are all organic/natural. i will introduce some oils into my diet around day 7, blended flaxseed and coconut oil to help with digestion and to cleanse colon. my plan at the start was to get thru to day 5 (which i am positive i will do)start to feel better and then go to day 7. if by day 7 i have seen some benefits ie weight loss than i will go to day 10-11 and wait for that clear clarity wonderful feelign tah is meant to come. then hopefully go all the way to day 30.
so how has it been so far. well day one went better than i expected although definatley felt the toxins coming out within 6 hours of starting to juice. i had a headach and felt sick in the stomach also incredibly tired i had a spaced out head feeling. day 2 was worse extremely tired and had 2 naps plus full 10 hour sleep. my tongue was coated in white yucky stuff and i know i had (still have) bad breath.as i said at the start i felt like staying in bed and not leaving my house. day 3 was a little better woke up after the best sleep i have had in 10 years. i had to have dental surgery which i was really nervous about and really didnt want to go through with. because of the pain but also from point of putting more toxins in my body and how that would feel coming out the next day. but got thru it and woke up today on day 4 feeling ok but not great. i dont feel like i am over the hump but for me i think each day is goin to be hard and i have to stay the path. i have got to say though at no stage have i ever felt hungry. i havent managed 8 juices only 6 but they are large glasses. i am drinking loads of water and if anyone is truly interested i can discuss bowel movements.
so i will continue to blog and if anyone out there wants to shout words of encouragement i would be greatly appreciative.

Hey, honey, you can do this! It does get easier. I would guess that you were eating sugar and white flour up to the point of the juice fast...it took me 7-10 days to detox from that junk, and it was a breeze after. Really!
You said that you are too heavy to exercise, other than walk. There is nothing wrong at all with walking, it's a wonderful exercise. Get your body moving, nice and easy, and it will respond. I started out 104 lbs. overweight, and would just about die when I would take the SLOWEST WALKS EVER, but kept at it. Be gentle with yourself, and start out just 2 or 3 minutes at a time if you must.
While you are fasting, take time to pamper yourself. Hot bubble baths, maybe get a massage if you can, a little bit of stretching, give yourself a manicure, journal a LOT. Be on your own side and be strong. Whether you know it or not, there is a tremendous reservoir of inner strength that you have access to, set an intention to tap into it. Have faith in you. You CAN do this!

Seems like you have a well-thought-out plan. Keep us posted. I'll be starting a fast in the coming weeks myself (less ambitious, just 5 days for me) and need the inspiration. Thank you for your blog!
