Is an enema necessary prior to the liver cleanse?

Just wondering if it is necessary/helpful to do an enema prior to the liver cleanse? If so, what are the benefits to this. I read several e-mails that mentioned an enema and wondered if that area of the body needs cleansing in order to pass everything more smoothly.

I am attempting my second cleanse (beging tomorrow). My first one was a great success (about 3 weeks ago), although the benefits from it (i.e., energy increase, relief from constipation and bloating) seem to have "worn off". This is part of the reason I am attempting a second cleanse. I passed many (did not take time to count) stones the first time. I have not had prior gall bladder trouble, as far as "attacks" are concerned. My goal in doing the cleanse was to get relief from seemingly chronic abdominal bloating and frequent constipation.

Any education you all could give will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Tess
