Flagyl cured my symptoms??

Dear everyone, my name is Mike and I am 27 years old. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis when I was 21 and since then have tried everything and anything for my ulcerative colitis with no help at all. I have tried ALL 5-ASA medications including Lialda. I have tried cortisteroids such as Prednisone and Dexamethasone. If I told you I saw 5% improvement I would be lying to you.

2 weeks ago I went to the emergency room because of a strong rectal abcess/pain. The doctor over there prescribed me 500mg of Flagyl, and another 500mg of Cipro for a 10 day course to eliminate any infection that might come.

After the 2nd day, I can clearly say that my Ulcerative colitis symptoms were 80% gone. My blood in stool was eliminated 100%. My bowel urgency was eliminated 80%. My abdominal pain and intestinal gas was reduced by 75%. My bowel movements a day were reduced DRAMATICALLY! Without any diet changes at all.

After finishing my 10 day course and running out of these anti-biotics... on the 2nd day all my symptoms returned.

Can anyone give me some information or to whats going on in my system? Please, any help can be greatly appreciated.
