shooting and spasming rib cage pain

i had my gall bladder out a few years ago and i've had a complete workup done on me for all my vital organs and also have had x-rays as well and everything came out fine. The only thing the doctor can come up with is "costocondritis"....he thinks....but is not sure. I've been going to pysical therapy where they give me heat treatments with some stimulation and also some ultrasound on my upper back. My doctor put me on hydrocodone for the pain and some muscle relaxers to help relieve the shooting spasming pains i have in my left and right ribcage. The pain is so unreal sometimes i just feel like crying but i know that i can't cuz my ribcage will hurt more....i am at a loss as to what i can do to relieve the pain. I am so depressed because i've always been active. Plus my job is a physically active type of job. Nobody seems to have any answers for me....they just say that i am an interesting case....that doesn't make me feel any better. I hope that in posting this message that someone out there will have some real answers for the pain that i am having. Sometimes the spasming pain occurs even when i've sat too long or lied down for too long. Tweet
