Thanks very much for this. Really. I'm scheduled for surgery on Oct. 31, Halloween. Reducible right inguinal hernia. Hasn't reached the scrotum. Doesn't bulge until after my first meal. Never noticed it until I had a lot of gas. After that, every day. They don't cure themselves. The hole in the muscle just gets larger. No constipation yet; but normally plagued with it for a lifetime. I'm looking forward to getting this over with.
I'm not worried about the surgery. I just hate to ask anyone for transportation (30 miles away). The surgeon says I'm not to drive for a week. He said there would be pain afterward. I'll see if my GP will let me get pain pills before the surgery; so I don't have to ask my transportation to stop at the drug store. I was only going to ask for a few pills. I have a high tolerance pain threshold; but you sound as if this is really going to hurt. Surely, I should be able to drive within a few days.
