Re: l-Tyrosine overdose, overstimulated CNS please help

General recommendations say that no more than 2000mg per day of any amino acid. Sounds like it ramped up the sympathetic nervous system and you are in overdrive. The need for beta blockers, anxiety and heart rate sounds like a magnesium issue. Magnesium is lost at high rates when the sympathetic nervous system is provoked.

Other minerals will be lost as well. There are many forms of magnesium and finding the right form is sort of a key for magnesium. UltraMag contains a multi blend form of magnesium but there are other forms that might benefit you. A straight chelate mag may work as well as mag lysinate, not sure what to think of mag chloride known as SlowMag - with the chloride it may or may not work since chloride is an anion.

Electrolytes play critical roles in the health of the nervous system, cardio, immune and really most of the body. They are sodium, potassium, chloride and of course magnesium.

When people supplement heavily with one thing then the possibility of pushing down the other items in that family occur. This happens with amino acids, minerals and vitamins. So by pushing tyrosine then you well may have pushed down the other amino acids.

You could do a serum amino acid test to see if there are imbalances. Doing a hair analysis which is a beneficial test can pinpoint mineral imbalance and/or toxicity. Personally I think Trace Elements is the best around since it is more comprehensive than the others.

The sympathetic system is very dependent on certain b vitamins to reset, you might want to speak to your doctor about these as well.
