Day 1
Alcohol is killing me but its not too late to do something about it!
Date: 8/1/2006 1:19:37 AM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 4156 times It is actually day 2 now since I have had a drink and I have decided to quit drinking with some support I know I will get here. Let's start off with a little about me...
I am a 31 year old alcoholic that has been drinking for 16 years. Up until 5 years ago, when I had my first and only child, I was drinking liquor very heavily. Since my daughter was born I mainly stuck with beer with the occasional wiskey bottle about 1 time a month. About a week ago I noticed that something was happening. I started feeling pretty bad and 4 days ago I developed flu-like symptoms. I also can tell my kidneys, liver, and stomach have really been hurting a lot. It is the middle of summer and I have never had a summer flu, but I am hoping this is all it is. I really don't think so though because I think its about time my heavy drinking has caught up to me. Regardless, now is a good time to quit as any so I want to post a blog and see how far (hopefully indefinitely) I can go.
I joined curezone at the end of May when I was on day 6 of my juice fast. I got hooked to reading so many blogs and posts that had good things to say about juice fasting, and since I had a juicer I decided to try it. I didn't think I would go 6 days and that is when I had to tell someone and joined curezone:)
Ok, there can be a long story here, but it would be boring to read it so I'll make it short. I just want to quit drinking and I am doing and taking some things that will help me rejuvenate my body hopefully. I know there is damage to my body, but hopefully I am not past the point of no return. I am going to give it a few days to see if this "flu " leaves my body. It is horrible and if it lasts I will go to the doctor. Until then, it's abstinence from alcohol and I will be juice fasting and taking my milk thistle. I would like to have some people that are going through alcohol addiction to help me in any way possible. Right now AA is not for me because I have been there and done that many times. Most of the people are 50+ that are doing good at AA everywhere I have been. Maybe it is different in other places, just not here. I have been to an outpatient rehab also and sometimes I think I should be locked away for about a year to help me quit this habit, but unfortunately my daughter would starve to death if that were the case.
The journey begins.......
