Overcoming the cold air... Tofday my limit was fourty degrees. I was wearing my makeshift sauna suit which has a big tear in the bumcrack cuz these things aren't made for actual use but for rare bouts of guilt over being fat and middle aged. I've discovered that the fitness gadet industry is a double edged sword. Why am I bringing this up now? I get up at five thirty now and while I drink my coffee, tea, whatever, I put the tv on and watch fitness infomercials. There are some real garbage products out there, I mean truly ridiculous! I have discovered that by just watching them a few times, I can build a great workout for free or near free.
Urban Rebounder:
For instance, I bought a rebounder at Walmart for twenty dollars. I would love to buy the Needak special but it's out of my financial range right now. I watched the Urban Rebounder commercial and memorised all of the moves and now I get up on the rebounder during my fav tv shows and take breaks during commercials.
Core Rhythms:
They actually show you the four moves that make up the latin dance workout. I mean I'm half Trinidadian and grew up with carnival, women 'makin waist',etc. It's all the same thing. I can tape good spanish music for free from the radio or just use my husband XM internet radio on my laptop.
Total Gym:
I don't care for the Bowflex, Soloflex,etc.etc.etc. I own a Total Gym and it's big enough. I can imagine getting the Bowflex. Maybe it's just my love of dumbbells and weight plates, etc. I know Chuck Norris touts the six-eight minute workouts for the busy person BUT I love taking a little longer and really burning the muscles. I am not down with the Christie Brinkley 'pilates' workout. I do the Chuck Norris workout because I know what I want and that is to maximize my muscle building potential. No drugs, no HGH,etc.etc. that will shrink my boobs and have something strange growing from my nether regions sad.gif blink.gif ohmy.gif 99.9% of women will never look like a man lifting weights.
Fluidity:
Biggest waste of money ever. My husband is going to install a wall mirror for me and a ballet barre in the 'living room' area of our basement apartment. As with Matt Furey workouts, you can find almost the same exact info for free so I've already planned a good stretch workout on the barre.
Windsor Pilates:
I notice they came out with a new one using one or two pounds weights and a circle. Well I have the original set and they sent me an extra one by mistake and they told me to keep it. It's actually not that bad if you want an ab workout.
Yoga Now: Watched this infomercial a loooooong time ago. Whole Foods sold Rodney Yee DVDs. I bougt three of them when I was prepping for the wedding. I took them along on the honeymoon to limber up for walking...yeah that's it. Limber up for walking in Paris and I prepfer his other yoga videos.
Tae Bo: I love Billy Blanks. I don't believe you need to buy every one of his DVDs though. I have three and after awhile they seem to repeat themselves so I'd say three is the limit. Cardio Ripped, Bootcamp Abs and another abs and butt one that I can't remember. Abs and Butt or something.
Oh well anyway... I worked out today. I had very bad gas. I think I didn't eat enough today or something. When I got home, I sat down in my husband's office and began to have a heavy feeling in my chest and I couldn't take a breath. I hate effing hospitals because I went to one for what i thought was a stroke because I couldn't feel one side of my body. So anyway... I deduced it was not having food in my belly so I had a hot cup of tea with cereal. I burped it all up and then I felt better enough to go outside and workout. Got chest, triceps and shoulders done. I tried some new exercises on the total gym and they work. There's something invigorating about working out in cold weather. Now I understand the whole running in snow phenomenon. I lived in an area where people who saw someone running in snow would say that person is crazy. Such is life. As long as one is wearing layers and good footwear why not?
I'm not done working out though. I'm watching tv and about to get on the rebounder. Later ya'll.
