Saddam urges Iraqis to reconcile, but Bush doesn't....
Occupation of Iraq benefits Bush and Friends. Thats why only Saddam, and not Bush, is calling for reconciliation of Shia and Sunnis.

That link to the AlJazz story about what Saddam was saying at the time his death sentence was handed down this week Nov 9 2006. He was thoughtfull enough to take that opportunity to urge the two main factions in Iraq's civil war to reconcile.
We have not seen any such initiative from the Bush forces. There has not been anything like trying to arrange a meeting of the Shia and Sunnis to even discuss their issues. That would be a concrete step to try and avoid escalation of the civil war that everyone seemed to know was coming.
Is it possible that a Iraqi civil war is exactly what Bush wants, exactly what Bush NEEDS to stay in Iraq? It is the only real excuse they have now to stay there... There is some evidence of the common tactic used by Elites where "outside forces are fomenting the hatreds of the two groups" in Iraq, like the bombing of a Mosque and slayings of each other's leaders and blaming them on the Shia or Sunnis but in fact these acts were perpetrated 'on the quiet' by USA forces.
What benefits does Bush gets out of staying in Iraq with his military forces?
- Billions spent monthly: partly for military combat pay, but mostly those expenses are going to contracts filled by a few corporations that the Bush Family Fortune benefits from [esp. when they have big profits]. In other words, Bush and friends are getting the American's tax dollars funnelled into their personal fortunes by staying the course in Iraq. The longer the better....
- oil: is being taken out of the ground and some of the profits go to the Iraqi government, but also there is a lot of it "going to pay for the war" which only means it is being taken from Iraqis and allotted to groups that benefit the Bush Family Fortune.
- Occupation in a mid-east nation gives America the foothold they need there in order to have a better opportunity for invasions and occupations of those nations that are not cowtowing to America. It is a threat to all the other nations in the region to occupy Iraq. The motive may be oil, but also political control of the mid-east nations too.
Other reasons for USA/Bush staying in Iraq? Sure there are - please reply if you think of some more!! Please.
