"Imagine a third world country where, during an election cycle, a large corporation with ties to the ruling party hires thugs to destroy opposition candidates. They threaten the lives of its leaders, shut down rallies and assault hundreds of opposition supporters. There are several assassination attempts against the opposition leader during the presidential race. The state media refuses to report on the subject except to blame the opposition for its 'provocation.' It invents stories about 'opposition violence' without evidence so as to placate the ruling party.
In such a circumstance, the United States press would be up in arms, attacking and threatening that nation with the full might of the “'free world.”' The resulting election would be deemed invalid and sanctions probably placed on the offending country. It would finance the opposition even to the point of starting a violent civil war. Unfortunately, the above scenario is a depiction of the 2016 election cycle in the U.S. and Donald J. Trump is the 'opposition'.”[1]

"... the National Archives and Records Administration published the actual Certificates of Votes of the Electoral College. Now, if there is a valid objection, the 304 Electoral Votes that Donald John Trump got will have to be split 155 Electoral Votes, for the office of President of the United States, POTUS, and 149 for the office of President of the United States of America, POTUSA.[4] If Trump loses those 155 votes, he loses the election and the last step in the process of the American presidency, taking the oral oath of office of President of the United States.
The official counting of the Electoral College Certificates of Vote will occur this Friday, January 6, in a joint session of Congress. At the conclusion of the count, Vice President Joseph Biden will ask if there are any objections to any of the Certificates of Vote. At least one Senator and one Representative must object to all or part of the vote, then the joint session of Congress ends and the Senate and House will meet separately to debate the objection for no more than two hours after which votes will be taken. If both the House and Senate choose to accept the objection, the Electoral College votes in question are invalidated.

Upon my visual examination of the fifty-one Certificates of Vote of the 2016 Electoral College Election for President, I discovered that only thirty-two States including the District of Columbia had cast their allotted Electoral Votes for the offices of President and Vice President of the United States of America. The Electoral election process is set out in Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution of September 17, 1787, and as amended by the Twelfth Amendment to the Constitution elects only two officers every four years, a President and Vice President of the United States of America.
The same visual inspection revealed that the Certificates of Vote of each of the following States were cast for the office of President of the United States: Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.
POTUS, President of the United States, is not an office elected by the Electoral College.
The office that is called "the President of the United States," POTUS, has been, since George Washington was first elected President of the United States of America, POTUSA, an office claimed by the POTUSA when he took the oral oath for the office of POTUS. The creation of the American presidency is so complicated that it could not be a product of circumstances such as the 14 years residency within the United States requirement for the Office of President. It had to be the product of such brilliant but devious minds such as those of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison.
The American presidency begins with an office created in the Constitution of September 17, 1787 at Article II, Section 1, Clause 1, with the Office of the President of the United States of America. Clause 2, describes the Electoral voting process and Clause 3 of the Constitution of September 17, 1787 is replaced by the Twelfth Amendment which makes the person with the winning vote count an immediate President of the United States of America without an oath or affirmation of any kind. ..."[3]

[4] I imagine that "split" will not occur. However Dr. Rivera's discovery "upon (his) visual examination of the fifty-one Certificates of Vote" is at least very interesting if not telling!
