Wyoming is 'Land Where the Mother Goddess is Loved'
Date: 10/8/2014 6:36:47 AM ( 10 y ) ... viewed 1064 times 4:09 AM PST right as the "Total Aries Lunar Eclipse" is occurring in the western sky! Moments earlier (3:50 AM) I saw raccoon siblings at our pond here.
I was inspired by Patricia Cota-Robles mention that "the translation for the word Wyoming is 'Land Where the Mother Goddess is Loved':

"Among some native peoples, the region was known as the Wyoming. The name could be translated as 'Land Where the Mother Goddess Is Loved.' Other people called it the Wakananda, or the Manitouba. These, too, are names for 'Mother Goddess.'
At one time, the vast radius of the Wyoming reached clear from the Southwest desert to the Canadian muskeg, and from the Sierra Nevada summits east to the Mississippi. By 1857, however, because of white-skinned incursions, it had shrunk to a small ragged disk in the area known today as Montana.

It was after reading about "the Skunk people" that I saw what I'm reasonably certain were raccoons at my pond outside my window. However, we have had a number of unmistakable skunk visitations here over the years!
