Much appreciation for both the article and the comments here!
There is a real problem with inadequate human nutrition as a direct result of the depleted soils. The basics facts attesting to this was well documented seventy-five years ago by a leading anthropological scientist by the name of Weston A. Price in his monumental studies of isolated primitive peoples, studies that led to the publication of "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration". The problem appears to be at least two-fold. Firstly the "foods of commerce" are implicated and for many reasons due to the way that these foods are processed. Secondly these processed foods typically come from agricultural sources that are geared for maximum yield without full regard to the impact on the soils. Consequently we have lost serious footage of top soils over the course of modern agriculture. All of this is very well documented and I am surprised that in 2014 it is not common knowledge.
Just prior to writing this comment I watched a video of Mike Adams interviewing Dr. Masaru Emoto and that interview concluded with a complete communication cycle between Mike and Dr. Emoto agreeing that it is not easy to control human beings if they are aware and knowledgeable of how things work. The full-disclosure on things like agricultural fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, gmo's, animal vaccinations, animal feed, waste management, (not to mention all the food manufacturers practices) etc., is still lacking for the people's knowledge and complete awareness and consequently people are left groping in the dark, in the shadows and /or in countless "grey areas" of partial knowledge and therefore continuing to be controlled by the non-stop onslaught of media programming, government education and corporate food propaganda. In the meanwhile Mother Earth continues to adjust as best she can while the plan of "man" has a "better idea". If it isn't already obvious by now then I say it: It's Time To Heal The Earth!
How can we do that? We can connect with all the people we can in our communities who are already devoting their lives to this healing process. Who are some of these people? They are the small farmers, the small family farms, the private dairies, the private food clubs and dozens of others who are raising/growing food for nourishment and in ways that care for the health of the land, the soils as well.
I have about 259 blog entries related to this just at one of my six CureZone blogs:

Thank you for every choice that you make with Mother Earth in mind!:

P.S. One of the best approaches I know to support healing the earth by way of soil-building is through building compost. I have been building compost piles over that last dozen years or so and continue to realize that there are mega-tons more of composting that needs to be done! Although I am presently managing the composting of all my households food wastes I actually would like to see several times more being done just for this household! One thing that could greatly help support this is to have a shredder/chipper. Then virtually all of the materials that can be cleared from the site can be shredded and thereby more easily and more quickly prepared for building the piles. I now ask the U-n-I-Verse to bring me a gas-powered shredder/chipper.
In Gratitude!
