Deep Space Messages 2011
Aliens should know what humans are like, the message from the 1960s needs to be replaced.

In the 1960s we sent messages on radio waves into deep space saying that planet Earth had life on it, and that one species, humans, wrote some cool music and we were a peacefull race. "It is a beautifull place".
That was then. We were so hopefull that it was true. We figured that by the year 2000 we would have gotten to that point.
This is now. The message we send in 2010 should give notice!! In fact, maybe the reason no aliens have shown themselves here on Earth is that they can clearly see that humans are warmakers, and that if they came here they would need to be armed, and it has been a long time since then needed or used weaponry.
The new message should read:
Humans are the dominant species on Earth. No other species on Earth kills it's own as much as we do. Beware Aliens - there are many here who will try to kill you if you show yourselves simply because you are different, and to those simple minds "anything different is a threat".
You see, we are full of fears. Our Elites control the masses with fears.
And, we are greedy - the main ambition of people here is to aquire more than those around them have. We actually still use CURRENCY to measure our wealth, so that we will know for sure just how much we have - we are that obscessed with materialism.
And, we are deceptive. We deceive others, we deceive ourselves. The truth is less compelling.
In fact, as soon as you show up, someone will offer people a products that assures "protection from Aliens for a price", and people will buy it up out of fear whether or not it is true that we have anything to fear from you or not.
Furthermore, one race of humans will believe than another race of humans is kissing Alien ass to gain advantage over the rest, and they will declare war unless they can meet the Aliens, or unless they are paid compensation.
To summarise, planet earth is dominated by a shallow minded, fearfull, deceptive, greedy, and violent species. You should probably wait a few more centuries [100 orbits of the earth around the sun] before coming for a visit.
