This is my weekend to work and being charge nurse, I need to feel a little more grounded this weekend. Yesteday was my day off. During the afternoon, I came under tremendous spiritual attack. I didn't start back fasting yesterday but just ate mostly rawfoods and wow the afternoon this tremendous depression hit me. It was a beautiful afternoon and I was sunning myself and decided to ride my bike and get out the last of my chest congestion. Really I felt worse and worse. I went into our local bookstore, well it's a nursing scrubs and christian bookstore shop. I got two books and a crucifix. Not sure why at the time because I wasn't feeling better. In fact, I was feeling worse. I decided to pedal up to church and pester the Lord since I already sent multiple texts to my husband about how much I hated small town life, etc. having a dirty house, etc. Wow it was bad.
Anyway, I went to church with no expectations and just sat in the pew looking up at the altar. Really, I began to pray, talk, etc. and felt this WALL go up. Like a ginormous brick wall and I said wow God is definately a man because it's like talking to a brick wall. Anyway, I felt this terrible spiritual pain like God really wasn't listening even though I went to 8:45 mass this morning. I decided to ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin, Padre Pio, Joseph (it was his feast day!) that my husband understand me, help me clean my house,etc.etc. then I decided I said enough. I don't know how long I sat there but I felt my spirit brighten and remembered the fruits of the Lenten season which is courage, preserverance, etc. and read the book Nursing with the Hands of Jesus and prayed the Divine Mercy chaplet for people who are really suffering things beyond anything I could ever imagine.
I ended up staying for most of the mass for the confirmation students (not eaten anything for five hours only water) and got a taste of what I need to do for the day I go on my waterfast. I won't be able to waterfast completely because I need to keep my sugar up. I was able to make it till I could escape with my bicycle before all the families let out after mass. I discovered by accident that I can waterfast all day not just half way if I add apple cider vinegar and honey to keep my blood sugar up.
I'm telling you guys this LONG story because it's very relevant to switching one's diet and shedding a lot of pounds quickly that were packed on because of 'issues'. Okay off to finish my morning job and continue cleaning my house. Praise the Lord!
