We have a massive stand of Arundo Donax,
AKA, bamboo-like cane grass on our property.
It provides a privacy wall that gives visitors
a sense of being in their own world far from
the urban setting.
We are now beginning to respond to a land clean up
note that will ask us to get rid of the Arundo Donex.
The Code Complicance Officer,
a very helpful person,
is believes that Round Up Ready is the approach
to kill the roots.
I need to call it other resources from the permaculture
and alternative environmental approach to find out how to
work with this.

with Mary Lydon,
Executive director of the Urban Land Institute
Local office.
This is an organization after my own heart.
Mary, who celebrates her birthday August 31
is an incredible asset to San Diego.

In a fire we had do to an unconscious candle left burning outside,
The arundo Donex burned by our home was saved by a firewall
of other bamboo that protected us.
