I think this shows how valuable a good relationship with an extended family can be. I can think of many relatives who would take me in rather than let me live in my car. We keep in touch with 2nd and 3rd cousins and even more distant relatives, which I understand is somewhat unusual these days.

Of course, some people have very small families. And some might just not have the $$ to drive across the country to their families, or they would. Tweet
