Nutritional Yeast (blech!)
Got a couple of helpful suggestions regarding my yeast post.
Date: 4/10/2006 3:33:48 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 1745 times I got a couple of helpful responses to my Yeast post. Ren says to try it in orange juice. Thanks, as always, Ren!
Krystal sent a message that not only was helpful, but made me chuckle:
"Oh, Honey. Nutritional yeast is not meant to mix with sweet foods. I
can't *believe* the can said you could drink it straight, and
personally I wouldn't recommend contaminating your smoothies with it
either. It makes a decent "cheese" substitue, though. I use it on
salads or as a "parmesean" flavoring. It isn't quite the same as real
parmesean, but that's probably the closest comparison I can come up
with. Just sprinkle small amounts on your salads, pizza, chips, etc. I
think you'll find it pretty tasty if you spread it thin. Good luck!"
Thanks for the sympathy, Krystal, and the suggestions.
I will try the ideas both of you sent. Maybe these suggestions will help other people, too.
Thanks for the help!
