"The Cyclocosmic Picture of Reality"
AKA "The Big Picture"! Life is cyclic, spiraling in nature. This understanding is essential for life mastery.
Date: 3/14/2014 6:07:35 AM ( 10 y ) ... viewed 1714 times I have "eonic consciousness" on my mind since first reading the term for the first time moments ago in "An Astrological Mandala" (by Dane Rudhyar)[1] at Aries 14 degrees (my descendent). I read[2] that eon is "a cycle of time" and "the cyclocosmic picture of reality". That last phrase rang deep within me! It reframes my perspective on "cosmos" to the point that I made a label and stuck it on the cover of my copy of "Cosmos and Psyche"[3] with this phrase "the cyclocosmic picture of reality" right under "Cosmos") as the new way that I will refer to that material! (Could this be an act of natal Mercury in Virgo?)
"... we are part of a process that is going somewhere. And it’s not merely a personal shift; it is a very deep cultural change in the human psyche as a whole." - Andrew Cohen[4]

"Rudolf Steiner showed that a deepened understanding and experience of the reality of successive earth lives formed the basis for true spiritual knowledge of the relationship of human beings and the cosmos. In contrast to most teachings on this subject, he gave concrete descriptions of the metamorphoses undergone by individuals in the course of successive incarnations.[5]
This changes everything if one is identified with a paradigm that essentially says "you only have one life to live so go for the gusto"! The purpose of the "cosmos" is revealed!
And the "cyclocosmic" perspective completely supports "the course of successive incarnations"!

"... the natural sciences, such as physics, mathematics; biology, chemistry, and astronomy are all based on the orderliness, even predictability, of natural law. ... the universe not only maintains form and structure, it also changes in precise and orderly ways."[6]
Forty-five years ago I had a most profound, deeply penetrating and acute realization that the whole world and all of life as I knew it up til then would change dramatically in my lifetime. Although I did not have the term consciously formed in my mind I made a silent prayer essentially in agreement with this realization providing that "natural law" be maintained. I just now realize the term that matches the unspoken prayer I made in late Summer 1970!
Nowadays I'm so impressed with the "precise and orderly ways" that I now intend to form my own variation of the acronym "MEST" by adding "O" for order thus forming: MESTO! However, I'm adjusting this to the acronym I've just discovered[7] that serves the same purpose and is already adapted by others who share a similar realization. The new acronym is STEM as well as STEM+IC. STEM is MEST reconfigured. IC = (Manifestations of) information and computation.[8]

A new Dyad:
"Tell me what Cosmos is"!
It could also be formed as:
"Tell me what the universe is."
My twelve primary Dyads to date:
Tell me who you are.
Tell me what you are.
Tell me what another is.
Tell me what life is.
(These first four are the traditional Enlightenment Intensive Dyads.)
+
Tell me what communication is.
Tell me what dialogue is.
Tell me what truth is.
Tell me what friendship is.
Tell me what community is.
Tell me what love is.
Tell me what the Earth is.
Tell me what Cosmos is.

I feel deep kinship with Dane Rudhyar. He presents a view on astrology in which I find a willingness to share with others, even those who have formed some kind of a prejudiced against astrology.
He writes:
"Astrology is the main symbol I have been using. It deals with the central problem of human existence, because it refers to the most basic of all such problems: the meaning of the relationship between man and the universe of which he is a part. It does so because the prima materia, as it were, of astrology refers to the most primordial and universal of all human experiences (at least, as far as our present humanity is concerned): the experience of the sky in its day and night aspects, thus of light and darkness, of waking consciousness and sleep. What astrology essentially does is merely to interpret this experience of the sky. It can be, and always has been, interpreted in two ways: (1) the symbolic and evocative way, which sees in the whole sky and the ordered motions of the lights of Sun, Moon, planets, and stars a revelation of the order of earthly nature in as well as outside of man — and, (2) the empirical and descriptive way, which seeks to give a systematic formulation to the correspondence between recurring events in nature and periodic changes in the positions of, and interrelationships among celestial bodies."[9]

August 14, 2017 - Do you have "a sense of process"?
"... when interpreting birth-charts and applying astrology to matters of human development and concern, a sense of process and of the structure of celestial cycles must underlie the astrologer's efforts."[10]
A Rudhyar quote by another astrologer inspired me to seek the source book and I am so grateful for mindfire.ca which archived this book!
"The application of the rhythms of celestial motion to corresponding developments in the lives of human beings can never be fully significant and revealing if the astrologer does not realize that human experience acquires its essential meaning when studied in terms of personal and collective unfoldment."[10]
I find my affinity with what Rudhyar (& Leyla Raël) presents here most profound! I also find the presentation reveals a beauty of our existence that I don't see expressed elsewhere.
