2016 11 22 FLUKES IN CARPET BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE WITH WATER-ANYBODY ELSE SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS?
Parasites Forum 01 2016 11 22 Flukes in Carpet. Does anyone have experience with this? I don't know if these are supposed to be larvae or what, but they look like old ones to me, just smaller. I thought the young ones were white and I've seen those, too. Surely, a piece of an adult can't just break off and become another fluke! I've not read that anyway. I'm now terrified I will leave them everywhere I go and never be able to get them out of my home! I recently started finding small black spots on the carpet that looked as though someone had burned a few of the carpet fibers. Black and hard as plastic. At first, I blamed my brain fog for my not remembering that I must have dropped a cigarette and did it. But, on a hunch after finding another one tonight, I put a drop of water on it. Not only was it flukes, but the water brought them back! They actually looked like they were eating the carpet, but after blowing up it, I think they were just after the water.
I'm supposed to go to my daughter's tomorrow for Thanksgiving, but now I'm afraid that no matter how careful I am I will leave behind something that may at some point in time rejuvenate and infect them. She and my grandsons are about the only joy these monsters hadn't already taken away from me and now, here they go. Is there no killing these things? And how am I suppose to get them out of the carpet? The vacuum makes them warm and gooey and a regular shampooing would create an even worse nightmare, hard as that is to imagine. I finally drowned these in pure ammonia. Just squirting did not kill them all, I had to soak them...can't do that to all the carpet. When I feel like doing anything. :(
Thoughts, anyone?
