IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE? ASSUMED FLUKES 11-22-16
I just started my fight against what I am pretty sure are flukes. I have been seeing black spots in the carpet that I assumed were (dead or soon to be dead) flukes. Recently, I have found a few spots that look and feel like something has burned some of the carpet fibers - hard as a rock. Finally, tonight, I put a couple of drops of water on one of them. My worst fears were realized. Not only were they flukes, but they "came back to life" after rehydration. Just last night I vacuumed this carpet within an inch of its life; this particular area, right beside my bed was probably gone over a dozen times, with two different vacuums! But there was enough of them left to keep going. They even appeared to be eating the carpet, but maybe they were after H2O.
Has anyone ever heard of them surviving outside any host and not in a cyst either? And these are black...I thought the young were lighter in color...are these pieces of full grown ones? Surely, you can't just break off a little piece and that piece survive without the rest of the body! Then again, I'm ready to believe almost anything at this point, with the possible exception that I will come through the winner. Wonder how long can they lay around dried up before they can't be brought back? Forever?
I'm supposed to go see my daughter and grandsons tomorrow, but now I'm afraid that, even if I take all precautions not to infect them while I am there, I will leave something behind that may, at some point, awaken and infect them. Not only that but how will I ever get rid of them now? It's hard to vacuum them because they get warm and gooey, standard carpet shampooing would only give them a new lease on life...what do I do, put Praziquantel and Valbazen in my carpet shampooer? I don't even know if I care anymore. These monsters have managed to take the one bright spot I had left in my life...if I can't see my daughter and grandsons, there's nothing left to inspire me. God, help me please.
